What up everybody?! Boy oh boy I am excited to share this next one with you. I made it for one of my friends TXT Customs. It’s a perfect amalgamation of two of both of our favourite things: X-Men and Spider Man. Here is my Spider Man in 90’s X-Men concept costume.

When TXT and I were chatting about potential custom ideas for me to make for him he made this amazing suggestion. TXT is know for his Spider Man variant customs/collection, and im no stranger to painting bright ass yellow over blue and sculpting leg/wrist straps, so the combination of the two was right up my alley! So, when he suggested my own take on a 90’s X-styled Spider Man, I was 110% on board right from the get go.

90’s X Spidey was made using a Ben Reilly Spider Man as a base (:::gasp! I’m!:::). I gave him his usual 3 sets of hands (fists, thwipp, splayed open). His belt is from a Nick Fury figure, his harness is sculpted with a random pouches and sculpt added.  He has Retro Black Widow wrist bracelets, Prowler leg straps (modifies).

I also gave him 3 head options. The first, which is the only one I have been sharing publicly, is your standard Spider Man heads. I did however mod the eyes to give the shape a different shape. Decided to draw inspiration from Wolverine’s mask on this a bit.

The second head is my 90’s Peter Parker head made using a Purple Man headcast with hair borrowed from Ultimate (Teen) Peter Parker. Had to mod the hair to get it to fit on a larger head but I think I was about to get a pretty good fit. Just look at that 90’s hair.

The third head is my fav; a 90’s inspired take on Spider Man’s mask. I used the mask up head from Pizza Spidey and chopper the top off. I transplanted a Gambit (Marvel Select shrunken cast) hair piece to the top which was too small. I had to sculpt a bit of extra hair at the front to fill in the gap. I also did the eyes on the mask similar to the fully masked head.

I did lots of sculpting on this guy. Using apoxie sculpt (with a bit of procreate) I did all the straps on the legs, the harness and many of the details on it. I also used Apoxie Sculpt for all the head mods including the hair transplant to the Parker head and the eyes on both the masked heads.

The Walkman was made entirely of  Apoxie Sculpt. I added some modded Headphones that came with the first MCU Star Lord and connected them with some cheap wire that I removed the wire from to keep posing easy. The Walkman has a magnet in it that holds it in place on his belt which also had a magnet buried in it next to the buckle.

Finally, the paint job was done at the same time I did Cable (because they had identical color pallets). And much like Cable, I’m stoked on how well this turned out. The colors REALLY pop here. I’m very happy with both the blues and the yellows here. Finally learning to control my airbrush a bit.

I am very happy to be able to share this with you all finally. I appreciate those of you who have reached out to me asking about the whereabouts this figure. I am beyond stoked with how he turned out and hope that my homie TXT loves it when he finally gets it (he still doesn’t have it cause it’s stuck at customs). Bummer for sure.

Up next.... I’m not sure right now. Could be Into the Spider Verse Miles and Peter B, or it could be Crimson Dynamo! Or it could be my Secret Santa. Time will only tell. Talk soon everyone.
